A ministry of loving, growing, sharing, and caring for children.

Presbyterian Youth Connection (PYC)
Sunday Evenings
Young people of Middle School and High School age meet weekly in the Youth Room (ED#3) for fun, fellowship, service, and faith exploration. The youth of B-DRPC are actively involved in all aspects of church life from weekly participation in worship to helping B-DRPC’s own ministry, in service to others. In fact, service is a cornerstone of PYC. As a group they help at Bread of Life, collect for Souper Bowl Sunday, walk in the annual CROP Walk, sponsor a Relay For Life team to fight cancer and fast for hunger through World Vision. B-DRPC youth participate in the WNC Presbytery youth events, go on a summer Beach Retreat, assist with VBS, and hide eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Once each year they lead worship on Youth Sunday giving the congregation a chance to hear what they have to say and to appreciate their many talents. Each year there are many events that allow teens a chance to just “be” together in fellowship and fun. In a nutshell, PYC is a community of Christian young people growing together, committed to others and each other.
Youth Sunday School Class
Sunday mornings, 9:45 in the Education Wing
Every Sunday morning there are opportunities for youth to grapple with life’s questions and dig deeper into their faith during Sunday School. A class is led by teachers who appreciate teens and like working with them to explore the Christian faith, the Reformed tradition, and the unique challenges teens face today.
Confirmation at B-DRPC
Each Pentecost Sunday we welcome into full membership those young people around the age of 12, who have gone through a time of preparation learning about the beliefs of the church, written a faith statement, and professed their belief in Jesus as the Christ and the tenets of the Presbyterian (Reformed) Church. If a confirmand has not been baptized this also is part of the service.
